one more thing! Videos and Skype for teaching?

Feel free to add ur comments!

I think that this would make learning much more of a free environment. Students will be able to view a lecture from their own homes or catch up with a lecture that they have missed. Making it a convenience helping both the lecture and the student.

The only problem i can see with this is students just not turning up at all because they can watch the notes later. This could then disrupt learning completely.

How can vidoes and skype be used for teaching and learning?

  1. I think there are already a few Universities that take part in online learning. It is quite handy to have if you are otherwise occupied with other things as a student such as deadlines or part time work. I guess students could get a little too comfortable and abuse it. The only thing wrong with this is that students wont be able to interact when it comes to things like seminars, and ask questions. But as far as lectures go, if you can learn from watching online the exact thing you'll learn when being in the lecture, then there are more pros than cons.

  2. i totally agree....if students could get all they need from uni at home there would be no point of lectures but i find it better to study with my class mates as it motivates me to do better. Studying at home...... is just a no no there's too much distractions.

  3. yh thats the main probably. studying at home will just make you feel free and get less done. where as in lectures your being told what to do and when, giving more direction towards the task.
