I was looking at my facebook the otherday and i saw a group for a uni. it had a large number of members. it made me realise that learning could be done through facebook. Think about it. How many people do you know that is currently addicted to going on facebook everyday? So setting up a way for things to be taught through facebook wouldnt be too hard.
Pros
- Students will be able to access information quickly and at any time
- It may make students learn more as they can interact with other students and people at the same time.
- More people can be involved
Cons
- Only problem i can see with learning on the internet is that some students may not have constant access to the internet.
- also the internet is very fragile, it can crash at any time
How do you think Facebook, twitter, mobile phones and other social networks can be used in teaching and learning?

i think it is very possible that learning could be done through the use of twitter and facebook. i know this already because my university brunel is already doing it lol our library is on twitter and one of my modules lecturer gave us her facebook so we can contact her more often. I think the only problem is that these methods can't be used as sole learning methods. they can however be used for group work and help on assignments. Also for knowing office times and also lol what mood your lecturer is in before you ask for an extension on a deadline.
ReplyDeletemakes me want get my uni involved properly. i like that.
